Hawthorne School-Backpack Food and Christmas House Toy Drives
The Airport thanks our staff, tenants, friends and the Washington Pilots Association for the Holiday support of the Hawthorne School Backpack Food collection program and the toys donated to Christmas House and Toys for Tots. Special thanks to RH2 Engineering, Department of Emergency Management, Everett Community College, Aerospace Futures Alliance, Northway Aviation, Precision Engines, QFC Mukilteo, and Donald Ehr for their generous support. Going Green
The entire aerospace industry is looking for ways to reduce its impact on the environment and improve sustainability. New Boeing aircraft are quieter and burn less fuel. Airlines and the FAA are working to improve flight planning, scheduling and air traffic routing to save fuel. Likewise, the Airport of Choice is looking for ways to be a better steward of the environment. We have made substantial improvements in energy usage and are switching to more efficient systems and lighting as part of this effort. We will use this column to let you know how we are doing and to solicit your ideas on GOING GREEN. |
Pets and Props
Pilots and tenants of the Airport have a responsibility to maintain a safe flying environment. One way to accomplish this is by maintaining positive control of any person or animal brought on the Airport. Guests of the Airport who are unfamiliar with airfield markings or signage can easily get confused and potentially end up on an active runway or taxiway. Additionally, pets or other animals should be on leashes, kenneled, or within handling distance to avoid accidents with moving vehicles or airplanes. If you want further information about airfield safety, please contact Bruce Goetz at his email or 425-388-5110. |
