Meetings are held in Room 8 of the The Paine Field Community Council was formed in 1980 as a result of the Airport's Mediated Role Determination. A primary purpose of the Community Council is to review, assess, and make recommendations to the Airport Director and/or affected governmental entities with regard to the Airport, especially items impacting the spirit and letter of the mediated agreement. In addition, the Community Council promotes mutual cooperation and understanding between the Airport, residential communities, and airport users. The Community Council meets three times a year and reviews current issues relating to the Airport and provides input to the Airport Director and Staff. Council members receive no compensation for their efforts. They are expected to provide effective liaison with their constituents. The Paine Field Community Council includes ten voting members comprised of four representatives of neighborhoods, two pilots affiliated with Paine Field, two representatives of fixed-based operators (FBOs) providing aviation services at Paine Field, and two off-Airport business representatives. Alternates for voting member are also elected. In addition, ex-officio agency members of affected jurisdictions and organizations represent numerous constituents in the community. Residential representation is split into four geographic quadrants. Community representatives and alternates must be residents of the quadrant they represent. In addition, they must maintain residency in their area in order to be a member of the Community Council. Boundaries delineating the Paine Field Community Council quadrants are as follows:
The County Executive appoints Community Council voting and alternate members who are then confirmed by the County Council.
