Waterline Construction Project:
“Mukilteo Water & Wastewater District, the water provider for Paine Field, is constructing a new water supply transmission main and booster station. KLB is the contractor for the project. The project will improve system pressure and fire sprinkler system reliability on Paine Field, improve water quality, and improve water supply reliability to District customers, which includes Paine Field and its tenants. Thank you for your patience during this project.”
Construction will generally follow these guidelines:
-
The construction will be done in segments, to provide less impact and disruption to traffic.
-
KLB intends to do night work for the work in the Yellow and YMCA parking lots, and for the crossings of 113th Street, 112th Street, and 111th Street on 31st Avenue. Work will start after ATS is done with their shift at 4:00,
and work will cease and be buttoned up to accommodate Boeing’s
3rd shift.
-
The temporary parking lot will be opened when KLB is ready to cross 113th and close off portions of the Yellow Lot.
-
KLB will place steel sheets over the trenches for periods of time during construction, until the area can be asphalted. Paine Field has requested that these sheets be pinned and that proper signage indicating slippery sheets be erected.
-
Barriers will be necessary for parking stalls and street areas impacted by construction. If any vehicles need to be towed, Boeing Towing will be required.
-
A Waterline Construction Map will be posted, illustrating impacted parking, streets, and include the approximate dates KLB will be impacting them. This will be updated depending on the weather and KLB’s construction progress.
-
111th Street needs to be kept open for the Boeing shuttles, either allowing the shuttle to turn north or south onto 31st Avenue, depending on the construction location.
-
The crossing of 112th Street will impact shipping deliveries, but Boeing indicates it can work around a single shift impact.
-
Once north of 111th Street, KLB can close 31st Place to traffic until it is into the EMC North Lot.
-
Boeing strongly recommends weekend work for the EMC North Lot. KLB, G&O and the District will discuss if this is feasible and get back to everyone.
-
Paine Field advocated good signage and requested that streets and parking lots be kept as clean as possible.
